I dont think anyone even reads this...

... so im not really letting anyone down when I don't post articles for a few days. But, just incase, watch all of these and before you're done I'll have something new up.

MOST OF THESE LINKS ARE NOW BROKEN, SORRY 8/13/09

Time for me to pay up for all the great docu.s I've found through this thread. I'm a huge documentary geek and watch at least one a day. If anyone has any requests for videos on a certain topic I can do my best to try and remember something or other.

Some of my recent favorites that I don't remember seeing in this thread are ...

The Union: The Business Behind Getting High

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9077214414651731007&hl=en

"BC's illegal marijuana trade industry has evolved into a business giant, dubbed by some involved as 'The Union', Commanding upwards of $7 billion Canadian annually. With up to 85% of 'BC Bud' being exported to the United States, the trade has become an international issue. Follow filmmaker Adam Scorgie as he demystifies the underground market and brings to light how an industry can function while remaining illegal. Through growers, police officers, criminologists, economists, doctors, politicians and pop culture icons, Scorgie examines the cause and effect nature of the business - an industry that may be profiting more by being illegal. Totally Bill Hicks

http://www.guba.com/watch/2000950423

"A celebration of the comedy of Bill Hicks. The film is structured around the different strains of comedy in the Hicks stand-up, sampling the best of his confrontational performance. Interviewees include two major American chat show hosts, David Letterman and Jay Leno, the actor Eric Bogosian and a wide range of comedians who admired his work including Sean Hughes and Eddie Izzard. There are also anecdotal contributions from his high school friends and an interview with his parents." -imdb.com

Ross Kemp On Gangs

Ross Kemp goes around the world and does his best to meet up with gangs and violent groups in the given area to find out what motivates them, that makes them unique, and what can be done to stop the violence they cause. I love this show because it goes into the socio-political reasonings for the existence of the groups.

Neo Jamaica 20-oh-nine

In a dark dystopian future one of the most beautiful parts of the world is in chaos. A small tropical country with a population less than that of London has an average of 11 murders a day. Violent political backed gangs rules the streets after dark and unemployment in the shanti-cities limits any economic light on the horizon.

Most of the rest of the world sees the country as a resort paradise not as the nightly shootings that take places in the countries major city, Kings Town. And now a type of music and dance have been banned by the government. The dance is called daggering, and its the most hilarious shit on earth. The worst DJs on earth, the Neo-Jamaican dance hall DJs, who feel that DJing is not about music but cutting all sound and screaming Have created a monster so horrible ... the shits been banned.

EXAMPLE 1.

I kid you not, the dance has been blamed for a recent string of ... broken penises. Yeah, I love this goddamn world sometimes. So strange, it must be true.

And now ... proof and links.

Find The Others...

Find The Others...

The Yes Men

The Yes Men are some of the most successful and publicly visible culture-jamming group who have released an award winning documentary on some of their work against the WTO. From their wikipedia page...

"The Yes Men are a group of culture jamming activists who practice what they call "identity correction" by pretending to be powerful people and spokespersons for prominent organizations. They create and maintain fake websites similar to ones they want to spoof, and then they accept invitations received on their websites to appear at conferences, symposia, and TV shows. Their newfound, self-proclaimed authority to express the idea that corporations and governmental organizations often act in dehumanizing ways toward the public has met both positively and negatively with political overtones. Elaborate props are sometimes part of the ruse, as shown in their 2003 DVD release The Yes Men."

If you havn't yet seen the film The Yes Men I highly recommend you get it right now. The simplicity of what these men are doing is both entertaining and has shown to have real world influence. All this from a handful of disenfranchised office workers.

Graffiti Research Labs

The G.R.L. are an open source group outfitting anyone who is interested great new technologies in the art and graffiti fields. They have been active for a number of years now and have already made a huge mark. If anyone remembers the Boston Bomb Scare where police were in chaos hunting and pulling down magnetically attached light boards they mistaken for bombs(they looked like light brights of cartoon characters, they were not bombs). Well, G.R.L. pioneered this technology used in the chaos and got a lot of attention and extra funding. They are dedicated to ...

"Dedicated to outfitting graffiti artists with open source technologies for urban communication."

The Borf Brigade

After their friend Borf killed himself at age 16 many of his friends started going out and spreading a message of anti-capitalism and and the bankruptcy of western culture. Downtown D.C. was covered in Free Borf graffiti and anti-capatalist messages. If thats not some super-hero story line shit right there I don't know what is. After a Borfist artist was arrested they released this communiqué ...

Situationist International

The films and writings of the leaders of the S.I., especially Guy Debord's Society of the Spectacle have been a huge inspiration on myself and many other revolutionaries for decades. Wikipedia describes them as...

The Situationist International (SI) was a small group of international revolutionaries founded in 1957, and which had its peak in its influence on the unprecedented general wildcat strikes of May '68 in France.

But the S.I. were a lot more than that. They were a mix of the beats and the Weatherman Underground and almost brought the systems of France to a stand still. Sadly as the groups founding members grew older and died, so did the movement. The S.I. is perhaps the group who most successfully used one of anarchism's most inspiring weapons, the wildcat strike.

Antifa

Antifa (ANTI-FAscist) is a mostly European group that has been functioning for decades in opposition to fascist and far right ideals. Antifa is most publicly known for these opposition meetings at Fascist events and matches all over europe. However Antifa his also been a large part of the fighting protests surrounding any and all WTO and G20 summits. They describe themselves on there website as...

"a social network for antifascist and anti-racist people, groups and organizations."

Anti-Facsest Action

AFA is another large anarchist/anti-fascist group that is very similar to Antifa

"This is literally a no-punches pulled account of militant group Anti Fascist Action’s fight against fascism in Britain by a grassroots anarchist member of AFA. Highly recommended.

It is important, not because he makes any pretence at being a leading light but because the many small (or not so small) contributions such people make are key to the success that AFA achieved."

Like Antifa, AFA is famous for using the tactic and this websites namesake, the Black Bloc. A black bloc is basically when groups of protesters dress all in black with bandannas most often over there faces to show solidarity and confuse and intimidate police. Here, let me show you ...

That videos title has a good breakdown of what the Black Bloc tactic is, when it has been seen, and why it is important.

Tax Honesty Movement

Through documentaries like America: Freedom To Fascism and others focusing on the IRS, world banking, and the Federal Reserve the Tax Honesty Movement has been getting new and helpful attention. They are pledged to exposing the myth of the Federal Income Tax and expose the Federal Reserve for what they are, traitors and criminals.

They have been repeatedly asked the IRS to show them the law that says Americans need to pay a federal income tax on there work wages and have been roundly ignored. If this group are wrong or if they are nuts all the IRS needs to do is show them the law and their cause will be ended, but if they are right every bankruptcy and seizure of property the IRS has ever enforced would be null and void. Why cant we just see the law and why are so many people so ignorant of this?

American Resistance Movement

The A.R.M is an American patriot movement that's been gaining a lot of attention and momentum. They stand and will fight against any threats to the Constitution and national sovereignty. They basically stand for the principles that the fore father stood for with the Sons of Liberty, the ideals of peace and liberty that founded the American republic. I feel like its important to note that by rule of Department of Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis, these guys are now domestic terrorists as they "reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority". They describe there aim on their website....

The idea behind the American Resistance Movement (ARM) is simple: Bring together like minded people under one banner to show solidarity in our cause. That cause is Freedom, Liberty and Independence. Tyranny has no home with us.

ARM brings the message of freedom from people, groups and organizations under an umbrella. This serves to show our strength and unity against tyrannical government and a corrupt power structure.

It is our message that is important not our makeup. We are all Americans together, not separated by sub-groups and divisions.

We all share common interests: Freedom, Independence and a desire to leave our prosperity a life free from the chains of tyranny, debt and servitude.

While the A.R.M. seems to be a fairly level and law abiding group, I thought I'd also point out the Rouge Nation Eternal Militia for those who want to see something more extreme under the line of American patriot groups ...

These are by no means groups who I believe everything they say they believe in, however they are all groups who I am interested in and in some ways admire. I hope you enjoyed.

Zappa and Paul on American fascism.

A great musician and the only American politician I support, Frank Zappa and Dr. Ron Paul talking about the likelihood of America transforming into a soft-fascist state. Great stuff. Off to watch America: Freedom to Fascism, been meaning to for far too long.

I Hate This Place or The Second American Civil War, Right-Wing Extremism, and Why You Should NEVER Mess With Texas.

Welcome to the first post on the BBP.

This is an article I wrote and posted elsewhere. If you like it, you'll like the articles I write in the future. If not, well, maybe keep reading anyway.

Lets go.

1. "Gov. Rick Perry joined state Rep. Brandon Creighton and sponsors of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 50 in support of states’ rights under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution."

2. "The Department of Homeland Security is warning law enforcement officials about a rise in "right wing extremist activity," saying the economic recession, the election of America's first black president and the return of a few disgruntled war veterans could swell the ranks of white-power militias.
A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines "right wing extremism in the United States" as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority."

People are rioting in the streets, literally, I’m not just using a phrase or trying to get a rise out of you. Last week thousands of anarchists, anti-NWO activists, photographers, and general angry mother fuckers converged on London to stand against the G20. A group being called “The Red Shirts” has broken up the ASEAN summit in Thailand is demanding there leader, who was outed by coup in 2006, be reinstates. The battles in Thailand ended with members of the ASEAN (basically the G10 of Asia) being lifted by helicopter from the roof, a scene reminiscent of the tet offensive and the end of the Vietnam War. Protesters in the US have been gathering in and around state capitals and and federal buildings today, the anniversary of the glorious Boston Tea Party, outraged about government spending under President Obama and bailouts for leaders of industry and banking.

And now, over the past week, the government of Texas has united to put out a bi-partisan resolution (and press conference*) supporting states rights over those of the federal government. The civil war was not fought over slavery, slavery was the issue that pushed states rights vs. federal rights and motivated people to take up arms, and now the exact same issue is coming up again. Oh yeah, and yesterday The Department of Homeland Security released a 9 page document focusing on the “new threat” of “far right extremists”. While the document starts by talking mostly about racist nationalists raging against the first black president it also includes “groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.” in the definition of “Far Right Extremists”.

That is, we are now fighting the war on terror against not only Islamic jihad, anyone who stands against the US military (or its mercenaries (excuse me “private military firms”) in its “occupation” of Iraq, roughly 200 children** (that explains all the dead Iraqi children, children can be terrorists too!), and now ... the state of Texas.

The deficit has tripled, Obama is having trouble satisfying the people who voted for CHANGE, and now Texas and the FED are in a dick waving contest. Mexico is in the middle of a civil war with drug cartels who make roughly 65% of there profits off marijuana alone, yet when California pushes for large scale legalization and sale of ganja to pull the state out of crippling debt, OR the president is asked his view on legalization, the issue is just laughed away. After all, we have wars to think about, as we pull out of Iraq the commander and chief wants to step up military operations in Afghanistan, “the graveyard of empires”.

And we keep on fighting the culture wars, and the real wars. We pray that Obama will pull up in a flatbed and drive us all to Freedomtown, USA. We read in the news about radical violent anarchists at the G20 and hate, but have never read a page of real anarchist teachings. The pope blesses earthquake victims, and speaks about about how if we have love, financial woes and cultural differences will melt away ... and he speaks from a private city, with vast banks, draped is golden robes.

Maybe someone else will come and solve all our problems for us, or maybe its time to evaluate your beliefs, find out where you stand, and try and make a difference in your own goddamn life.

SIX55321 is a 23 year old anarchist currently living in Boulder, Colorado. He has been writing from a young age and went to Fitchburg State College for "Professional Writing". Deciding to leave school and move across the United States seemed like a better idea to SIX than finishing school and go into debt.
