Find The Others...

The Yes Men

The Yes Men are some of the most successful and publicly visible culture-jamming group who have released an award winning documentary on some of their work against the WTO. From their wikipedia page...

"The Yes Men are a group of culture jamming activists who practice what they call "identity correction" by pretending to be powerful people and spokespersons for prominent organizations. They create and maintain fake websites similar to ones they want to spoof, and then they accept invitations received on their websites to appear at conferences, symposia, and TV shows. Their newfound, self-proclaimed authority to express the idea that corporations and governmental organizations often act in dehumanizing ways toward the public has met both positively and negatively with political overtones. Elaborate props are sometimes part of the ruse, as shown in their 2003 DVD release The Yes Men."

If you havn't yet seen the film The Yes Men I highly recommend you get it right now. The simplicity of what these men are doing is both entertaining and has shown to have real world influence. All this from a handful of disenfranchised office workers.

Graffiti Research Labs

The G.R.L. are an open source group outfitting anyone who is interested great new technologies in the art and graffiti fields. They have been active for a number of years now and have already made a huge mark. If anyone remembers the Boston Bomb Scare where police were in chaos hunting and pulling down magnetically attached light boards they mistaken for bombs(they looked like light brights of cartoon characters, they were not bombs). Well, G.R.L. pioneered this technology used in the chaos and got a lot of attention and extra funding. They are dedicated to ...

"Dedicated to outfitting graffiti artists with open source technologies for urban communication."

The Borf Brigade

After their friend Borf killed himself at age 16 many of his friends started going out and spreading a message of anti-capitalism and and the bankruptcy of western culture. Downtown D.C. was covered in Free Borf graffiti and anti-capatalist messages. If thats not some super-hero story line shit right there I don't know what is. After a Borfist artist was arrested they released this communiqué ...

Situationist International

The films and writings of the leaders of the S.I., especially Guy Debord's Society of the Spectacle have been a huge inspiration on myself and many other revolutionaries for decades. Wikipedia describes them as...

The Situationist International (SI) was a small group of international revolutionaries founded in 1957, and which had its peak in its influence on the unprecedented general wildcat strikes of May '68 in France.

But the S.I. were a lot more than that. They were a mix of the beats and the Weatherman Underground and almost brought the systems of France to a stand still. Sadly as the groups founding members grew older and died, so did the movement. The S.I. is perhaps the group who most successfully used one of anarchism's most inspiring weapons, the wildcat strike.

Antifa

Antifa (ANTI-FAscist) is a mostly European group that has been functioning for decades in opposition to fascist and far right ideals. Antifa is most publicly known for these opposition meetings at Fascist events and matches all over europe. However Antifa his also been a large part of the fighting protests surrounding any and all WTO and G20 summits. They describe themselves on there website as...

"a social network for antifascist and anti-racist people, groups and organizations."

Anti-Facsest Action

AFA is another large anarchist/anti-fascist group that is very similar to Antifa

"This is literally a no-punches pulled account of militant group Anti Fascist Action’s fight against fascism in Britain by a grassroots anarchist member of AFA. Highly recommended.

It is important, not because he makes any pretence at being a leading light but because the many small (or not so small) contributions such people make are key to the success that AFA achieved."

Like Antifa, AFA is famous for using the tactic and this websites namesake, the Black Bloc. A black bloc is basically when groups of protesters dress all in black with bandannas most often over there faces to show solidarity and confuse and intimidate police. Here, let me show you ...

That videos title has a good breakdown of what the Black Bloc tactic is, when it has been seen, and why it is important.

Tax Honesty Movement

Through documentaries like America: Freedom To Fascism and others focusing on the IRS, world banking, and the Federal Reserve the Tax Honesty Movement has been getting new and helpful attention. They are pledged to exposing the myth of the Federal Income Tax and expose the Federal Reserve for what they are, traitors and criminals.

They have been repeatedly asked the IRS to show them the law that says Americans need to pay a federal income tax on there work wages and have been roundly ignored. If this group are wrong or if they are nuts all the IRS needs to do is show them the law and their cause will be ended, but if they are right every bankruptcy and seizure of property the IRS has ever enforced would be null and void. Why cant we just see the law and why are so many people so ignorant of this?

American Resistance Movement

The A.R.M is an American patriot movement that's been gaining a lot of attention and momentum. They stand and will fight against any threats to the Constitution and national sovereignty. They basically stand for the principles that the fore father stood for with the Sons of Liberty, the ideals of peace and liberty that founded the American republic. I feel like its important to note that by rule of Department of Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis, these guys are now domestic terrorists as they "reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority". They describe there aim on their website....

The idea behind the American Resistance Movement (ARM) is simple: Bring together like minded people under one banner to show solidarity in our cause. That cause is Freedom, Liberty and Independence. Tyranny has no home with us.

ARM brings the message of freedom from people, groups and organizations under an umbrella. This serves to show our strength and unity against tyrannical government and a corrupt power structure.

It is our message that is important not our makeup. We are all Americans together, not separated by sub-groups and divisions.

We all share common interests: Freedom, Independence and a desire to leave our prosperity a life free from the chains of tyranny, debt and servitude.

While the A.R.M. seems to be a fairly level and law abiding group, I thought I'd also point out the Rouge Nation Eternal Militia for those who want to see something more extreme under the line of American patriot groups ...

These are by no means groups who I believe everything they say they believe in, however they are all groups who I am interested in and in some ways admire. I hope you enjoyed.
